HOW TO MAKE SEAMOSS GEL WITHOUT A BLENDER.
Soak a small quantity( about a fist full) of seamoss. Seamoss holds 200 times of its weight in water( it swells up after soaking).
-Soak in natural spring water for some amount of hours. About 8-12 hours or there about would be ok. This is to revive/re-electrify it from it’s dried state. Also, soaking it will help to get rid of some of the sea/salty taste.
-Rinse about 3 times in key lime spring water. This will further take away the salty/sea taste from it.
-While the above is being done (step 2), boil some amount of spring water in a pot. Then pour this hot spring water on the Seamoss, which would have been already rinsed and placed in pot. Allow the seamoss to simmer in the hot water for about 40mins or there about….This will break down the seamoss.
-put the pot of seamoss back on the fire, keep stirring and add water in need be to get a jelly consistency. Keep stirring up with medium to low heat. It’s important to keep stirring up to break down the seamoss. Sea moss has a lot of dissolved solids and so it burns easy, another reason to keep stirring.
-once the consistency is that of a jelly, take off from the fire and let it cool. This will solidify the seamoss into a gel. Store in a cool place.
You can now add your seamoss to your smoothies, teas, drink, etc….Anything you want to add it to. You can also bake with it or put it as a face mask.
